Prof Sen completed his Bachelor Degree in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta, Masters from Calcutta University and PhD from Culham Laboratory, Oxford, UK. He held faculty positions at Lancaster University, UK; Delhi University, India; Kyoto University, Japan; and Australian National University, Australia, before joining as Dean of Science and Technology and Distinguished Full Professor at National Institute of Aerospace/NASA and Visiting Full Professor at William & Mary in Virginia, USA. Prof Sen is a Fellow of American Physical Society. Editor-in-Chief of Taylor & Francis Journal REDS; and Book Series Editor of the prestigious CRC Press in the UK. He leads an Interdisciplinary Consortium of Modelling & Simulation with 10 US Institutions (MIT, Columbia University, Princeton University, Virginia Tech, William & Mary, Los Alamos National Lab, NASA-Langley, Old Dominion University, Hampton University & National Institute of Aerospace) and 4 International renowned Institutes in Japan, Italy, Canada & Mexico. For his seminal contributions in many interdisciplinary areas including Energy Science, Space Science, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Radiation and Processing Technology, he has delivered 38 invited talks in various international conferences around the world, he has published 120 publications, many with students and postdocs.
National Institute of Aerospace is a sister concern of NASA-Langley. A brief discussion on the education offered and research pursued here will be discussed. Along with this, the Interdisciplinary Consortium of Modelling & Simulation will also be discussed.
