UPES Research and Development Department

    R&D @ UPES-Connect, Collaborate & Create

  • UPES has a fine tradition of developing domain specific and industry ready graduates . After developing our teaching and learning processes, for the last eight years, UPES has initiated Research & Development (R&D) activities . The University aspires to conduct R&D in diverse areas aiming to cover the full spectrum, from fundamental and theoretical studies, through research of relevance to business and industry with practice-based studies in Energy. We seek to support each research area with crosscutting functions, including industry partnerships, knowledge and technology transfer, analysis, and program integration. We aim towards developing quality research & development, spanning all three colleges, configured to provide the maximum of opportunities for various multidisciplinary areas.

About The R&D Projects and Development

To accomplish this, UPES has formed 13 virtual centres/institutes of research, each working in a particular strategic area, by bringing together its research expertise, knowledge-base and key skills into interdisciplinary teams. These centres/institutes represent our view of the integrated solutions to most pressing energy challenges for the present society to which we believe our expertise and research can make a real and lasting contribution. Our focus areas bring together experts from a variety of disciplines to effect change and deliver practical solutions.

One of the rewarding aspects for R&D @ UPES is an opportunity to undertake PhD. A PhD will bring you into contact with our diverse pool of research expertise across a variety of specialist areas, and you'll join one of the India's leading Energy universities for performing innovative research and developing practical, applicable solutions.

The R&D @ UPES website provides detailed information about the R&D vision, mission & objectives, completed and ongoing R&D projects, different Research Centers/Institutes, R&D deliverables and future perspectives.

Research Area with a core focus:

  • ✔ Renewable energy systems
  • ✔ Sustainable Development
  • ✔ Environmental and Energy economics
  • ✔Nanotechnology
  • ✔ Large scale infrastructure and project finance
